"Flip the Script - Pt. 2"
Jesus Went Low — Philippians 2 Big Idea: Jesus didn’t climb higher — He stepped lower. Jesus went low for us, so we don’t have to live high on ourselves. 1. Service Over Status Philippians 2:3–7 Jesus didn’t protect His position — He laid it down. Key Thought: Humility shows up in ordinary moments of inconvenient service. 2. Conviction Over Comfort Philippians 2:8 Jesus obeyed God even when obedience led to pain. Key Thought: Following Jesus won’t always feel good — but it will always lead to life. Memorable Quote: “Comfort asks, ‘What feels easiest?’ Conviction asks, ‘What honors God?’” 3. The Cross Over Control Philippians 2:8–11 Jesus chose surrender instead of self-protection. Key Thought: The cross wasn’t Jesus losing control — it was Him trusting the Father. Memorable Quote: “You don’t lose your life when you surrender it — you finally find it.”
Sermon Description
What if the way forward in life isn’t climbing higher, but learning how to go lower?
In Philippians 2, we see Jesus make three surprising choices:
• Service over status
• Conviction over comfort
• The cross over control
This message explores how Jesus’ humility reshapes how we live, love, and lead — especially in our relationships, parenting, work, and everyday pressure. Whether you’re new to church or just trying to figure out faith in real life, this message invites you to see Jesus not as a rule-giver, but as a Savior who went low so we could truly live.
