Family Drama – Rehab

Family Drama - "Rehab"

Title: The Scandal Nobody Could Hide
Texts: Matthew 1:1–5; Joshua 2:1–18; Hebrews 11:31; James 2:25

Big Idea: God doesn’t consult your reputation before He calls you. His reputation overshadows yours.

Point 1: The gap between your reality and your reputation is where God does His best work.
Quote: “God doesn’t wait for people to clean up their opinion of you before He calls you.”

Point 2: God doesn’t use your perfection; He uses your faith.
Quote: “God didn’t use her lie — He used her faith.”

Point 3: Integrity is living above reproach, not beneath the weight of criticism.
Quote: “Sometimes the making of a leader looks like the breaking of a leader.”

Point 4: The scarlet thread says your past can’t stop your future.
Quote: “God can do more with your bad than you can pretending you’re good.”

Invitation: Tie the scarlet cord. Trust Jesus. Step into a new story.

Sermon Description

This week’s message, “The Scandal Nobody Could Hide,” dives into one of the most surprising parts of Jesus’ family story — the inclusion of Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute whose faith changed everything.

If you’ve ever battled a reputation, felt misunderstood, or believed your past disqualified you, this message is for you. Rahab’s story shows that God can rewrite any narrative, redeem any history, and use imperfect faith to unleash His perfect plan.

Whether you’re new to church or returning after a long time, this message will help you see Jesus’ heart for outsiders, strugglers, and anyone desperate for a fresh start.
