Fall Forward - "All Access"
Main Texts: Matthew 27:51; Mark 15:38; Luke 23:45 Supporting Texts: Hebrews 4:16; John 10:27; Psalm 46:10 Big Idea: Grace isn’t just God forgiving us — it’s God inviting us in. Because of Jesus, we can now talk to God, listen to God, and simply be with God. Historical Background: • The temple curtain separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place, where God’s presence dwelled (Leviticus 16). • Only the high priest could enter once a year with a sacrifice. • It was 60 feet high and 4 inches thick — so heavy that 300 priests were needed to handle it. • When Jesus died, the curtain tore from top to bottom, showing that God Himself removed the separation. “What centuries of sacrifice couldn’t do, grace accomplished in one moment.” Point 1 – Grace Gives Us Access to Talk to God • Scripture: Hebrews 4:16 • Idea: Prayer isn’t a performance; it’s a conversation with your Father. • Quote: “Grace turned the throne room of judgment into a living room of conversation.” Point 2 – Grace Gives Us Access to Listen to God • Scripture: John 10:27 • Idea: God’s voice isn’t distant — it’s intimate. Grace quiets the noise so we can hear Him. • Quote: “When grace tore the curtain, it also turned down the noise.” Point 3 – Grace Gives Us Access to Just Be with God • Scripture: Psalm 46:10 • Idea: We’re not outsiders performing for acceptance — we’re children resting in His presence. • Quote: “Grace didn’t just invite us to speak or listen — it invited us to stay.”
Sermon Description
What if the biggest barrier between you and God was already gone — and you didn’t even know it?
In this message, “The Gift of Access: When Grace Tore the Curtain,” we explore the powerful moment when the temple veil ripped from top to bottom, and what that means for your daily life. Grace doesn’t just forgive you; it gives you access to talk to God, listen to God, and just be with Him.
Whether you’re new to faith or coming back after a long time, this message will help you experience what Jesus made possible when the curtain tore.
