Title: Are You Serious?! – Serious About The Word
Description:
Most of us scroll more than we search. We snack on random posts but starve spiritually. In this message, we’re asking: Are you serious about God’s Word? Not in a legalistic way, but in a way that brings real life, freedom, and strength.
We’ll unpack why the Bible still matters today, how it’s been misused (and why that’s dangerous), and how we can approach it with reverence AND familiarity like holy ground, but also like home.
This isn’t about checking religious boxes. It’s about knowing God personally.

Small Group Discussion Questions
In your life right now, do you approach the Bible more like a “rulebook” or like “holy ground”? What would it look like to shift that? (Exodus 3:5; James 1:21)
We’ve all seen the Bible misused. How have you personally seen Scripture twisted, and how do we avoid doing the same thing in our lives? (Galatians 3:28; Matthew 5:9; John 8:7; 1 Timothy 6:9–10; Acts 2:17–18)
Think about a time when God’s Word softened your heart in a way rules or guilt never could. What happened? (Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
How can reverence for God’s Word and intimacy with God’s Word work together instead of against each other? (Hebrews 4:16; John 15:7)
What’s one practical way you can move from “legalism” to “reverence” in your Bible habits this week? (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 139:23–24)
2 Deep Journal Questions
If the Bible is really God speaking to me, what does that mean for how I approach it? Am I treating it casually or carefully?
What’s one area of my life where I need God’s Word to transform me, not just change my actions, but change my heart?
